Plagiarism and AI Policy
The Entrepreneurship and Micro and Small Business Management Magazine is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, originality, and responsible research and publication practices. Authors are expected to submit manuscripts that represent their own scholarly work and to properly acknowledge all sources, ideas, data, quotations, and materials obtained from other works.
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism, in any form, is considered unacceptable. Plagiarism includes presenting another person's words, ideas, arguments, data, findings, figures, tables, or other intellectual contributions as one's own without appropriate acknowledgement. This also includes substantial copying from previously published or unpublished material, inappropriate paraphrasing, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and submitting substantially similar work to multiple journals simultaneously.
Submitted manuscripts may be screened using appropriate plagiarism or similarity-detection tools. The editorial team may examine the nature, extent, and context of any identified similarity rather than relying solely on a similarity percentage. Properly cited quotations, references, standard terminology, methodological descriptions, and other legitimate similarities may be considered differently from unattributed copying.
Where substantial plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are identified, the manuscript may be rejected. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may take appropriate corrective action, which may include issuing a correction, editorial notice, expression of concern, or withdrawal or retraction of the article, depending on the circumstances.
Authors remain responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and appropriately referenced. All contributors should carefully check their manuscripts before submission.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy
The journal recognizes that artificial intelligence and AI-assisted tools may be used in academic research and manuscript preparation. Such tools may include generative AI systems used for language improvement, grammar correction, translation, formatting assistance, brainstorming, or other supportive purposes.
The use of AI tools does not transfer responsibility for the manuscript from the authors to the technology provider. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, interpretation, and final content of their manuscript. Authors should carefully verify any information, references, citations, quotations, statistical statements, or other content generated or assisted by AI tools.
AI tools should not be listed as authors or co-authors because authorship requires human responsibility for the scholarly work. The human authors remain accountable for the submitted manuscript and for responding to questions concerning its content.
AI tools should not be used to fabricate or manipulate research data, generate false references, create misleading results, manipulate images or figures, or otherwise misrepresent the research process. The use of AI in ways that compromise research integrity may constitute academic misconduct.
Where AI has been used substantially in the preparation of a manuscript, authors should provide an appropriate disclosure in the manuscript or during submission, particularly when AI has contributed beyond routine spelling, grammar, translation, or language-editing assistance. Authors should follow any additional disclosure requirements communicated by the journal.
The journal may use appropriate technological tools, including AI-assisted systems, as part of editorial, administrative, plagiarism, or manuscript-screening processes. Such tools are used to support editorial assessment and do not replace the judgment and responsibility of editors and reviewers.
The journal does not consider AI-generated or AI-assisted text to be a substitute for original scholarly contribution. Authors are expected to maintain transparency regarding significant AI assistance and to ensure that the final manuscript meets accepted standards of academic integrity, originality, and responsible research.
